When this boy meets world… This show makes up most of the 90s for me. And Cory? How was he so adorable?! This cocktail is all Cory - sweet, cute and sensitive - with a dash of bitter reality that he’s just a character, and even if he was real, he’d be after Topanga.

Cory Matthews Cocktail
4 1/2 oz Lorina Pink Lemonade
1 oz Whipped Vodka
1 oz Raspberry Liqueur
1/2 oz Creme de Cacao Liqueur 
A Dash of Angostura Bitters

Combine ingredients in a mixer with ice. Shake and pour over ice into a glass. Garnish with a cherry.

edensrightbrain: Got an email from Kyle Rictor today. He asked me to post this you all General Ghost fans! Here’s their thoughts/story behind The Gospel: Jon and I made this EP (Give Me To The Waves) by waking up, meeting at the studio and sitting down to start writing. The process normally starts with us just hanging out as friends and talking. We talk about new records we’ve bought, our families, what we did the night before, etc. Well, one morning Jon and I were talking as usual before we started writing and Jon told me a story that instantly became the inspiration for “The Gospel”. Here’s what Jon told me: “Dude. Last night I was walking into my apartment from outside and got stopped by this guy. I kind of assumed he was going to ask me for money, so I was ready to get the wallet out. But he didn’t ask me for money. He asked me if he could tell me a story. He told me about his life. He was a boxer when he was younger. Good family, good life. All good until trouble came in the form of the boyfriend of his sister or something like that. Well, he tells me about how he hated this guy and that he just needed to go. So, he killed the guy. Straight up killed him. He was convicted of murder and spent 23 years in prison. Dude, this was his FIRST DAY OUT. He told me he just felt so amazing and free and couldn’t wait to tell anybody his story. He then told me that he didn’t feel this great joy and freedom because he was finally out of prison, in fact he felt free years ago. This man heard God in prison speaking to him. Drawing him in. Offering love and freedom. He gave his life over to God and started learning about Jesus and how he died for us, so that we could know Him and be free. He was free at that moment, just dying to get out and tell someone the good news. It took going to prison for this man to finally be free.” As soon as Jon finished the story, we knew we had to write about it. Deployment sucks!

Dropped my husband off at the airport this morning. Thankfully, its a really short deployment, only 2 weeks. Still sucks though. I miss him every second he’s gone.
